ProStream™ 1000 Stream Processing Platform
Designed to address the increasing demand for advanced video and audio services, Harmonic’s IP-based ProStream™ 1000 stream processing platform is the ideal platform for multiplexing, scrambling and advanced processing of MPEG streams. The multi-functional and higly versatile ProStream 1000 is a modular and compact 1-RU system with five slots at the back which can be populated with ASI or IP (Gigabit Ethernet) cards.
Multiplexing
With its standard IP (Gigabit Ethernet) and DVB-ASI input and output interfaces, the ProStream 1000 can be easily incorporated in any existing headend environment or as part of any digital turn around (DTA) architecture. ProStream 1000's robust, extensible and highly scalable design supports MPEG re-multiplexing functionality, including PID remapping and filtering, insertion of PSI/SI tables, PID multicast, and service redundancy, as well multiple IP sockets containing MPTS and SPTS. This configuration not only reduces rack space and power requirements, but also simplifies the network infrastructure while delivering a high-availability solution.
Operators of all types can take advantage of the flexibility of the ProStream 1000 for applications that include:
- Multiplexing in any existing headend environment and utilized as part of a digital turnaround (DTA) architecture (Multiplexing)
- Integrated closed-loop statistical multiplexing of up to 64 channels in multiple DivitrackMX™ pools offers service providers a high quality service in contrast to legacy rate-shaping technologies (ProStream 1000 with DiviTrackMX)
- A DiviTrackIP™ engine enables the ProStream 1000 to support statistical multiplexing over LAN and WAN networks, including support for up to 24 services per multiplexed pool, and support for up to three pools within a single transport stream.
- Reducing cost and complexity by eliminating the need for multiple devices or software-based IP scrambling solutions in distributed cable, satellite or telecom networks, including support for AES encryption (ProStream 1000 with ProCipher Scrambling)
- Bulk descrambling to distribute a large amount of content (hundreds of services) to small IPTV and cable headends via satellite, in a secure manner (ProStream 1000 with ProCipher Scrambling)
- Delivering multiple switched broadcast services through their VOD infrastructure by converting existing VBR services to CBR with video quality superior to legacy rate-shaping technologies (ProStream 1000 with Mentor™ Re-Encoding)
- Distributing MPEG traffic for single frequency networks (SFN) from one central headend, over an IP network, to multiple remote DVB-T SFN headends (SFN over IP)

Sencore DMG 3000/3100 multiplexer
Sencore’s DMG 3000/3100 multiplexer is the simplest, most powerful digital cable solution for operators launching or expanding their digital service offering.
The DMG 3000/3100 advanced multiplex software simplifies engineers’ deployment and operational routines. Developed specifically for digital cable operators, the multiplexer performs full analysis of source PSI/SI and PSIP tables, with automatic regeneration of all tables as required, up to a maximum 250 multiplexes.
Sencore’s DMG 3000/3100 offers a high performance QAM output module for direct insertion of digital services into the cable network. Based on a full digital-modulation and up-conversion architecture, the QAM Output module delivers a clearer signal, and makes future upgrades easier.
Regional adaptation
For insertion of local programming at regional broadcast locations, the DMG 3000/3100 is a powerful, space efficient solution. Transparent mode enables direct transport stream forwarding for network conversion applications.
Resilience is built into the DMG architecture. Modules are hot-swappable, including power supplies and fans, and the ‘Always On’ redundancy solution offers full or partial redundancy for a variety of failure scenarios.cast over cable networks.
Central Head-end
Ease of configuration makes the DMG 3000/3100 the ideal solution for deployments requiring aggregation of services from multiple sources, service processing and preparation for QAM broadcast over cable networks.
Remote Head-end
With IP, DVB-T or ASI input sources, powerful edge processing capabilities, high density QAM output alongside decoder options for analog simulcast, operators can deliver all broadcast services via a common platform.
Contribution
High throughput ASI feeds, multiplexing functionality, and an easy to use user interface make dynamic service adjustments possible.

Harmonic ProStream™ 2000 MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) HD/SD Splicer
Harmonic’s ProStream™ 2000 is a multi-service HD and SD MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) and MPEG-2 digital splicer that supports real-time and seamless splicing of multiple compressed video and audio services, primarily for ad insertion applications. Based on open standards, the IP-based ProStream 2000 is fully integrated with Harmonic’s DiviCom® Electra™ encoders, ProStream 1000 stream processing platform, DiviTrackIP™ distributed statistical multiplexer, NMX Digital Service Manager™ as well as the CLEARcut storage encoding solution and the StreamLiner® ad server.
The ProStream 2000 is the industry’s first splicer featuring multi-channel and multi-service capabilities within a compact 1-RU chassis, and supports multiple SD or HD streams. The technically advanced ProStream 2000 does not degrade video quality, which can occur with other splicing solutions. As a result, operators can more effectively insert national or local ads in the digital stream. The ProStream 2000’s density and versatility make it possible for operators to reduce cost per channel with a scalable and distributed architecture, and better take advantage of incremental revenue opportunities with digital ad insertion as they launch new SD and HD services.

EPG Metadata Carousel Solution
Download EPG Carousel brochure
For systems lacking Service Information (SI) middleware, the EPG Metadata Carousel injects EPG data directly into the DVB transport stream
Electronic Program Guides and the information they present serve an important role in attracting and
retaining viewers. However, many operators work with legacy equipment that does not include EPG
systems or SI middleware. For these broadcasters, the GMDS EPG Metadata Carousel provides an affordable solution for injecting metadata directly into the DVB transport stream. Based on the DVB standard, the EPG Metadata Carousel receives metadata as XML files and converts it to binary MPEG-2 Event Information Tables (EIT). The data is played out for the operator as a transport stream with PIDs, with the signal fed directly into the operator’s multiplexer and integrated with the DVB transport stream.
The EPG Metadata Carousel is available as software for installation in the operator’s server, or as a stand-alone server.
Ideal for ...
GMDS Playout Service is ideal for operators of regional and special interest TV channels, as well
as corporate networks.
